A poet Maggie Piercy once wrote “A strong woman is determined to do something others are determined not to be done.” On March 24th the AGIT Global North America team took to Our Lady of Peace High School in San Diego for it’s 9th Annual Women’s Symposium focused on bringing a mixture of talent in women’s career paths ranging from duties with civil departments, lawyers, real estate agents, and professional athletes. Each speaker was allowed time to share their experiences that crafted their career path and how to overcome challenges in the modern day structure of the modern workplace. Maya Gabeira, a Brazilian Big Wave surfer was the keynote speaker for this event.
Alisa Scharwzstein Cairns, Senior Sales and Customer Servicing for AGIT Global North America, previously a world traveled touring professional held discussions on the modern athlete and state of the surf industry from competition to workplace. Alisa gave valuable insight on her career path for young girls looking to aspire to be leaders in the community and affect the future generation. In 2012 Alisa won “woman of the year” from the Surfers Walk of Fame and she has been instrumental in crafting all customer care and now moved into promoting strategy for Sales.

AGIT Global’s brands Wavestorm and Storm Blade SSR were present for exposing possible future surfers to the leading names in foam surfboard technology. Sales Executive Rick Lopez was on hand to speak to the girls with Alisa about product. Details of each branding. AGIT Global premiered some exclusive looks into the 2023 year lineup as well for the outdoor expo as the skies finally opened to the sunshine and a picture perfect day ensued. Girls were enticed to enter the giveaway for a Wavestorm 8ft Starburst graphic board and the lucky winner walked with a brand new ride.
