AGIT Global Inc. has won a Taiwan Innotech Expo Silver Award with the design of a collapsible seat mounted on a stand-up paddle board. The award was given by the Taiwan National Invention and Creation Awards. The design took the AGIT R&D team one year to develop and underwent multiple iterations to settle on the final design. Present at the awards was AGIT Global President John Yeh and R&D Lead Manager Amy Chao.
The collapsing seat was meant to add stability and efficiency to what has been previously offered in the market. Developing a lightweight profile and testing strength of the component was key in the seat’s ability to withstand the rigors of outdoor use. With a profile that will nest within the board itself, the new collapsing seat features a system in which will allow stand-up paddle board users the ability to take a rest or even create a more luxurious user experience while paddling. In the initial launch of the board, users have already been excited that a sitting option is now available. This will allow groups of varying expertise to join paddling exercises together.
The Paddle board has already enjoyed a limited run of success in some larger clubs this past year.
